Junior High is where things get interesting. Students move from general learning to subject-specific teaching, begin to develop their own academic interests, and build the critical thinking skills they'll need for IGCSE and beyond.
Our Junior High programme is popular with families starting their homeschooling journey at this level, as well as those using us for tuition support in specific subjects. We introduce exam-style questions gradually, so when they hit IGCSE, it feels familiar — not frightening.
Instead of one teacher covering everything, students now have different teachers for each subject — just like in a real secondary school. Each teacher is a specialist in their field, bringing depth and passion to every lesson.
Homework increases, independent study is encouraged, and students learn to manage their time. We build these skills gradually over three years — we don't throw them in the deep end.
From Year 8, students are introduced to IGCSE-style questions, mark schemes, and exam techniques. By the time they start IGCSE in Year 10, they already know what's expected.
At the end of Year 9, students sit Cambridge Checkpoint tests in English, Maths, and Science. These are diagnostic — they show exactly where your child stands relative to international benchmarks, without the pressure of pass/fail grades. Results help us make informed decisions about IGCSE subject choices.
We guide families through this process carefully over two years.
Careers and interests assessment to identify strengths and passions.
Subject taster sessions for optional IGCSE subjects.
One-on-one consultation with academic advisor and parents.
Final subject selection confirmed before IGCSE begins.
The foundation built in Junior High determines IGCSE performance. Start early, start right.
